Relaxing day...

Today we did not go to the park since it was so hot by the time we got going. The kids were so tired today from this past week...they actually took a nap so mom was able to take a nice little nap too! Madison (she loves going shopping with me) and I went shopping at Fresh and Easy which is our new store to go grocery shopping. We love going there because everything is so fresh and the prices are great too. Every day they have items at 50% if they are getting ready to expire. Today we bought their homemade pizza dough so the kids could make their own pizza for dinner. It turned out great! Nolan did a puppet show for us that was excellent. The rest of the night we enjoyed a nice relaxing night with Jason home with us.

Mousing around...

Today the kids decided to dress up again and make another play for their dad. Their play was based on the cartoon by Mickey Mouse called "Steamboat Willie" and their theme song was "Mickey Mouse Club". We took the kids to the park for a little bit before Jason had to go to work. The kids and I hung out the rest of the night at home...

Watch out Hollywood here comes Nolan & Madison!

Today the kids dressed up all day in their old costumes...then prepared for a play they created for their daddy. When Jason woke up they showed off their play and it was a hit! Their theme music was "Speed Racer". After that we watched Indiana Jones with the kids and had dinner. I think we are going to take the kids to the Railroad Park tomorrow. It was a fun day...glad they are not bored with mom, but they can't wait for summer camp to start next week.

Another fun day at the park...

Today we watched a movie and went to the park down the street again. Nolan is doing so good riding his bike, now he is riding down the grass hill at the park and going all over the place. Madison is still hesitant to ride her bike since she fell down yesterday. Jason tried to stand next to her until she gets her confidence back but she did not want to have anything to do with her bike. We will try again tomorrow. While Nolan was riding his bike Madison made a new friend with a girl that lives down the street from us. They played fetch with our dog until we had to take Jason to work. A few more days till they have summer school...trying to keep them busy and from getting bored. I may need a mini vacation after this week, but I am having so much fun with them. :)

Happy Memorial Day!

Today we had a fun day at the park next to our house again. Luckily, Jason did not have to work tonight so he was able to spend the day with us. Nolan was finally able to show us how he can ride his bike. We are so proud of him! Madison rode her bike and was doing well till she fell...after that she did not want to go back on her bike. After that we played fetch with our dog scruffy...he is obsessed with his toy ball. The kids played soccer for a while until Madison fell down...after that she was so upset since she fell twice today. We went back home to relax and have dinner. It was a nice relaxing holiday!

We wanted to take a moment to thank all the men and women who have served or continue to serve our country. To our cousin Valerie who is in Iraq right now and her husband Chris who was over there recently. We love you and miss you...thank you for all that you do for us!

This is a poem that a 3rd Grader wrote for Memorial Day:
Remember the brave soldiers who gave their lives For our freedom,God Bless them all these courageous Men and women.
They fought on land, Others at sea,Sacrificing their lives for You and me.
Schools and offices respect these heroes.
From the past,By flying our beautiful flag at half-mast.
As you watch the parade and hear the trumpets play,Please think about what we celebrate on Memorial Day.-© 2001 Luke, 3rd Grader, Academy Elementary School,Madison,Connecticut.

At the park with mom

Today we played at the park before we took Jason to work. Madison and Nolan played soccer and tried to play football. Nolan tried to teach her how to throw a football and she did really good. Nolan and I threw the football around for a little bit. After we took Jason to work we met our friend Traci at Target. Then, we went over to her house to help her shave her dog and hung out with her for a little bit. Now they are sleeping peacefully...we had a great day!

Rainy last day of school

Today was the last day of school. YAY! The kids are happy but they are also sad at the same time. They had free dress day since it was the last day...no more school uniforms for them till August (they are happy about that). It was a fun family day together since Jason did not have to work tonight and the kids were home by 12:30. We watched the Bee Movie so Jason could see the movie with us since he did not see it with us last time. We also played the game Disney Scene It...Nolan and I kicked Jason and Maddie's butt. The rest of the day we enjoyed hanging out...enjoying the cool weather and rain since it will be hot again soon.

One more day...till summer break

The kids have one more day till school is over. Today they had twins day at school. If they dressed like one of their friends or teachers, then they did not have to wear their school uniform to school. Madison dressed like Miss Emily with jeans and a shirt. Nolan dressed like his teacher Mr. S in a school uniform since his teacher always wears that everyday. Tonight we just had a nice quiet night snuggling together. The weather changed from over 100 degrees to high 60's. Jason decided to show off his talent and entertain the kids and I by blowing up latex gloves over his head. Never a dull moment in our house...

Spring Pageant

Today was backwards day at school. The kids had a blast having their clothes on backwards. Nolan is class representative for student council and came up with having backwards day at school so he was very excited.

Tonight the kids had their Spring Pageant...they have been counting down the days. The theme was Disney Around the World. Madison's class sang and danced to "One Jump Ahead" from the Aladdin movie. Nolan's class sang and danced to "Bet On It" from High School Musical 2. They had this great African Dance with drums...what a fabulous performance they put on. The kids were so excited to see their Grandma Shirley and Papa John at the show. We had a fun night. Now the kids want to go back to Disneyland again since tonight was all about Disney. Off to bed now...

D-Backs Game!

The kids had so much fun helping Traci with her yard sale today. Madison was in charge of the change for the purchases made. Nolan was in charge of getting people to stop and come to the yard sale. Traci gave Nolan her nephew's old two wheeler bike and taught him how to ride it. We are so proud of him and thankful that she taught him how to ride the bike. It was a great surprise for us! Traci gave the kids $3 each for helping out at the yard sale. After all of their hard work she took the kids to the dollar store so they could pick out three things to buy with their money.

Tonight we went to the Diamondbacks Baseball game with the kids. Their school was having a "school night" at the game. The kids were so excited to see some of their friends at the game. Nolan is definitely a HUGE baseball fan like his parents. He was cheering as loud as his dad (and that is saying a lot). Madison's friend Taylor sat next to her during the game, they goofed off the whole time. Unfortunately, the D-Backs ended up losing the game. We can't wait till we go to another game soon!

TGIF!

Sleepover at Aunt T's (Traci) house.

The kids with Traci

Today the kids and I went over to Traci's house for dinner after we took Jason to work. Plus, the kids were having a sleepover at her house so they could help her with the yard sale the next day. Uncle Erich and his new girlfriend Terri surprised us by coming over to Traci's house after dinner. The kids were so excited to spend time with their uncle. We had such a great time!

Pizza Night!

Tonight Jason did not work again since the hospital is starting to slow down. He won't be working extra shifts anymore as often since summer is almost here and the snow birds are going back home soon. The kids were excited to have their dad around again. We ate pizza from Barro's (our favorite pizza place) tonight. The kids made some pictures tonight with Madison's new Disney Princess Easel set for our friend Traci since we are going to her house tomorrow night for dinner. The kids are going to stay the night with her so they can help her with the yard sale on Saturday. They are very excited to have a sleepover at her house! Plus she is going to pay each of them $5 for helping out. They can use that money at the baseball game Saturday night.
